“Walsh Cup and Fitzgibbon Cup competitions on the same day is crazy” says Michael Walsh

Former Kilkenny hurler and KCLR analyst Michael walsh says having the Walsh Cup and Fitzgibbon Cup competitions on the same day is crazy.

IT Carlow are out against UCD on Sunday at 12.30 while Kilkenny and Wexford clash in the Walsh Cup Semi Final at 2pm in John Locke’s Park.

Michael says Davy Fitzgerald is down 14 players for the game as Kilkenny will be missing a lot too.

He said “I don’t know what way the fixtures are worked out, but it’s crazy that all this is going on at the same time, its a real case of putting stuff on and trying to get it out of the way I think”.

“They could have left one Sunday for Fitzgibbon and the next for the Walsh Cup, but I suppose with the timeframes coming into the league you have to get everything run off, but again it kind of disrespects the competition”.
