Shane Lowry says the Claret Jug will be in safe hands until the summer of 2021.

The Championship is the first men’s golf major of the year to be cancelled outright because of the coronavirus pandemic.

It will now be played at Royal St George’s in July next year.

The R-and-A say they took the decision to cancel after exhausting all available options.
