Marcus Lawler says his training schedule will continue through Christmas for Indoor season

The indoor races take place at the end of January

Carlow man Marcus Lawler says training will continue at full pace through the Christmas break to get ready for action in the new year.

Marcus is preparing for the Indoor season which starts at the end of January.

He was named University Athlete of the Year at the National Athletics Awards last week for the year that he’s had.

Marcus says he will enjoy the festive season as best he can.

He said “I can only speak for myself but my own training schedule will just go right through Christmas and right into January, i’ll be racing at the end of January in indoors”.

“There is work still to be done, but I suppose at the same time we’re not robots either and definitely for the couple of days over christmas, training gets a little bit fractured”.
