Kyle & Katie Jordan claim Kilkenny Sport Star Award for August

The local handballers are the first sibling winners for the award.

Siblings Kyle and Katie Jordan have been named as the August recipients of the David Buggy Motors Kilkenny Sport Star award.

The announcement was made on KCLR Breakfast on Monday morning.

Representing the Kilfane Handball Club, the duo were among a number of Kilkenny handballers who travelled to Minnesota for the World Handball Championships in August.

In a double achievement, they mark the first handballers and first sibling pairing to take home the award.

The presentation will be made during September.

Kenny Cottrell, who represented Ireland at the recent World Racketball Championships and Richie Ryan, the 2018 Dunlop Masters Superbike champion, were also in the running for the public vote.

You can get your nominations in for the September round from today.
