Blow for Glenmore and Kilkenny as Ger Aylward suffers cruciate injury

Glenmore and Kilkenny have been dealt a big blow with the confirmation that Ger Aylward has suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The injury rules the 2015 All-Star hurler out of Glenmore’s All-Ireland Junior Hurling Final on 7 February against Eoghan Rua of Derry and will likely have a huge effect on playing with the county for 2016.

Ger went off injured early on in their All-Ireland Semi-Final win over Dungourney of Cork on Sunday, Glenmore running out 3-10 to 1-11 winners.

It is unsure how long the Glenmore man will be out for but could see him miss Kilkenny’s 2016 championship campaign.

Times Confirmed For All-Ireland Finals

Meanwhile the times for Glenmore and Bennettsbridge’s All Ireland Club Finals have been confirmed.

Glenmore are first out at GAA headquarters against Eoghan Rua at 2pm while Bennettsbridge take on Abbeyknockmoy at 3.45pm in their second consecutive All-Ireland club hurling final.
