Cannonball set for pitstop at Lyrath as 2018 run reroutes to Kilkenny

It's not the finish line, but it's close enough for some motorsport fans.

While the official route for Cannonball 2018 was set in June this year, organisers are rerouting to Kilkenny for a special stop on Sunday 9 September.

The route change comes on the back of several requests from both drivers and specators.

As such, Lyrath Estate on the Carlow Road will play host to a special two-hour lunch stop with cars arriving for 1pm.

The overall finish line for Cannonball has been in Kilkenny 3 times in the 10 years since the event was founded and last year there were record crowds out to see the event.

Thousands lined the streets to welcome the event now once again in 2018 fans can see some of the world’s top mark cars such as McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley at this family-friendly event.

Rolling from 7 September

Cannonball, the action-packed supercar spectacle, is set to roll on September 7-9 with over 190,000 people expected to line the streets all around Ireland.
