Evergreen grounds manager Mick Hennessy says it’s been 30 years work to try and get back into an FAI Junior Cup Final.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s Final against Sheriff, Mick says their is a great buzz around the club with tickets and bus seats mostly sold out.
“Every club in Ireland has aspirations to get to the FAI Junior Cup Final and we probably weren’t even expecting it this year and it’s terrific to get there”, said Hennessy in speaking with Edward Hayden earlier this week.
“It’s terrific for the club and it’s terrific for the community and there is a great buzz around the place. Tickets are flying, buses are flying and everything is going great.”
“It’s 30 years work and the club has been here since 1946. We got to the final in 1984 and didn’t succeed then and hopefully now we will go now just one better.”
Evergreen and Sheriff is our live game on KCLR this Saturday evening at 6pm with commentary and analysis from Kevin Regan and Michael Walsh.
