Former Waterford hurler Peter Queally isn’t sure that Austin Gleeson will start centre-forward against Kilkenny on Saturday evening despite scoring 0-6 from play against Offaly.
Speaking to KCLR, Peter – who is managing Rower-Inistioge this year – says that last years hurler of the year might be moved around to surprise Kilkenny.
“There was a lot of talk in the media about nailing him down to a certain position and one of the positions mentioned would have been centre-forward where he lined out against Offaly. He did very well, scored 0-6 from play.
“I am not so sure if Derek will just go along with that again, you would be putting Austin Gleeson on maybe Kilkenny’s best player at the moment Cillian Buckley and maybe he will move him around, maybe put him somewhere else, throw a bit of a curveball and just throw the opposition.
“The team selection will be crucial and especially as regards where they position Austin,” said Queally.
