Carlow Senior hurler Craig Wall says they want to be hurling against the best in order to improve.
Carlow conclude their Walsh Cup campaign tomorrow night (Wednesday) against UCD, and speaking to KCLR on last nights “The way it is”, Craig says their main aim for 2017 is to get back among hurling’s elite.
“This is their last game before the Fitzgibbon so they will probably have their best team out, but like you want to be hurling against the best to improve”
“We don’t want to be hurling the likes of Donegal or Mayo or any of them. We want to be hurling the best of the best, and that’s our aim for this year to get back where we believe where we belong and these matches are just a stepping stone to get us to where we want to be”
“The backroom staff seem to be the best quality, they are leaving no stone unturned. They are just putting everything in place for us to train hard and hopefully win the League, win the Christy Ring and get Carlow hurling back to where it belongs”
