Carlow Ladies Inter-League Soccer manager Patrick Dowling says that the same hunger and desire is there among the group of players who have been there from the very start.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s Inter-League clash against the Combined Counties – which will be a dress rehearsal for the upcoming Inter-League Final – Patrick says they deserve to compete at this level.
“The easiest thing that you can do in many ways is go out and win something and the hardest thing is go out and defend it and starting out, they have played different teams this year which has freshened it up and we have had new faces in which has also helped as well in freshening it up but at the same time, there are players there from the very start and the same hunger and desire is in them.
“The captaincy stays the same with Aisling Behan. Kelly Nolan is vice-captain and it stems from there. There is still a fire in the belly and they deserve to compete at this level, so I hope it all goes well on the day in the final”
